Abstract
The 2273 cu. m/d MEFF (Multiple Effect Falling Film) sea water desalination plant was constructed by Toyo Engineering Corporation in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and is now in successful continuous operation. The MEFF process consists of evaporators, preheater, condenser and deaerators. All heat exchangers are designed with vertical tubes for heat transfer. Operation results have demonstrated excellent production capacity. The vertical condenser of the open air type makes possible tube maintenance even during plant operation.
