Abstract
Having achieved control over pricing and production levels of crude oil in their sovereign territories, OPEC Member Countries see as their next task, expansion in downstream activities, in pursuit of which aim they seek cooperation with the international Majors and independent oil companies. This is the theme of the following interview granted to Maurice Gent of the British Broadcasting Corporation by OPEC Secretary General Mr. Ali Mohammed Jaidah on September 19, 1977.
