Abstract

The effect of urea ratio on crystalline structure, magnetic characteristics, and textural properties of maghemite nanoparticles produced through the autoignition was evaluated in the current investigation. In order to achieve mesoporous nanoparticles with average pore diameter of 14 nm, the fuel ratio should be fixed at the level of 3.0. Autoignition favors for the fabrication of relatively pure maghemite nanoparticles with the saturation magnetization of 52 emu g−1, if the fuel ratio is adjusted at the level of 5.0. The mesopores with mean size of 33 nm were distributed within the nanoparticles, providing a surface area of 18.3 m2 g−1.
