Abstract

Microchip laser-based spark-discharge assisted laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (SD-LIBS) combined with one-point calibration (OPC) method was developed to realize quantitative elemental analysis of Cu-Zn-Ag alloy samples. OPC method makes it possible to use zinc atomic lines with unknown transition probabilities in the procedures of quantitative elemental analysis using a calibration-free algorithm. The relative errors of quantitative analysis of copper, zinc and silver in Cu-Zn-Ag alloy samples reached to 0.86%, 0.99% and 5.17% under current experimental condition, respectively. This work demonstrated that microchip laser-based SD-LIBS combined with OPC method can be used to realize convenient quantitative elemental analysis of zinc contained alloy samples with reliable accuracy.
