Abstract

Abstract The purpose of the study on which this article is based was to discover whether there is a difference between the intonation system of British English and that of American English and to describe any difference that was found. The intonation system is the system of tunes, defined in terms of pitch and stress, used in a language and the meanings carried by those tunes.
