Abstract
ABSTRACTIn real-world situations, problems pertaining to classification are commonly observed. To handle such problems, prominent statistical classification tools are being used. This article focuses on one such classification tool, namely Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve. The entire framework of the work is to demonstrate the use and importance of the ROC curve under multivariate setup. Real data on cicadas is considered where the objectives are to identify the type of species as well as the gender. The results disclose interesting facts about the species considered.
