Abstract

Abstract The question on the uniqueness of the solution of the problem of reconstructing a continuous soft X-ray emission spectrum by the iterative method [Nuclear Inst. and Methods in Physics Research A, 916 (2019) 313–321] from spectrograms obtained with a transmission diffraction grating is considered. It is shown that, despite the presence of a potentially infinite number of solutions of this problem, only one of them has the physical sense.
