Abstract

The behavior of the time-correlation functions for the orientation motion of anisotropic ellipsoidal particles in a stationary Couette flow and that of their frequency spectra have been considered. The thermal changes in the ellipsoid orientation are described by a stochastic equation with the angular velocity vector containing an additional regular component due to the shear flow. The spectral functions for the orientation motion are analyzed on the basis of the earlier-developed author's method. The presence of the orientating external field is shown to result in a doublet structure of the spectra.
