Abstract

The elastic differential cross-section in positron–hydrogen collisions is computed in the energy range 0.136–30.6 eV utilising accurate phaseshifts and partial-wave amplitudes given by the Kohn-Hulthěn and Schwinger variational methods. Surface plots of the differential cross-section thus obtained indicate rich structure. Critical angles appear due to the destructive interference of the partial-wave contributions to the scattering amplitude for positron momenta just beyond 0.31 (a.u.).
