Abstract
This paper discusses topical problems of macroeconomic forecasting. The forecasting system is regarded as the totality of state and nonstate institutions and research and expert organizations involved in the formation of motivated visions of future development of the Russian economy. Aspects of the forecasting methodology and toolkit and the harmonization of different scenarios and results of forecast calculations are touched on. The challenge of creating a single national economic forecasting system is issued.
