Abstract

A novel theoretical formulation is proposed for the analysis of the propagation of finite-bandwidth signals in a double-negative slab. The case of a Gaussian-pulse signal is addressed. Theoretical results are compared with numerical data attained from an FDTD code developed by the authors, demonstrating an excellent agreement between the two approaches. Interesting application opportunities are profiled.
