Abstract

AbstractSummary: The present article highlights the possible perdiction of flow properties of polyolefins by fast and conventional size exclusion chromatography measurements. By using a rheological model based on double reptation the viscosity function under shear can be predicted from the molecular mass distribution. The predicted flow curves for polyolefins of narrow molecular mass distributions agree fairly well with the measured data.Comparison of predicted and measured complex viscosity functions of polyethylenes with narrow molecular mass distribution.magnified imageComparison of predicted and measured complex viscosity functions of polyethylenes with narrow molecular mass distribution.
