Abstract

The local modes Hamiltonian is rewritten exactly in terms of coupled anharmonic normal modes. Reexpressed in this way, the Hamiltonian contains leading-order 2:2 Darling–Dennison and 1:2 resonances, and terms corresponding to higher-order resonances in the highly anharmonic regime.
