Abstract

The iron oxide samples collected from both filtration and batch reactors were analysed by X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopy. In the filtration of water containing iron, the oxidized form of iron was determined to be ferrihydrite. In contrast, in the batch experiment without filtration, iron was oxidized to microcrystalline goethite.
