Abstract
Based on information from prospecting and exploration work in recent years, the article briefly discusses the tectonic structure, lithological-stratigraphic, hydrological and hydrogeological characteristics of the Karabakh territory. It is noted that hydrologically the entire territory of Azerbaijan, including the territory of Karabakh, the river network is unevenly located. The main rivers are Kendelanchay and Guruchay, taken from the springs of Mount Chakhmag in the Lesser Caucasus Ridge with their tributaries. The economic territory of Karabakh includes the Beylagan, Aghjabadi, Jabrayil, Khojavend regions, located in the southeastern foothill continuation of the Lesser Caucasus and bordered by the Araz River in the southeast, generally located at an altitude of 300 m above sea level, it is located in the southeast of the Karabakh Highlands.
