Abstract

ABSTRACTFor a finite group G, let n(G) denote the number of conjugacy classes of non-subnormal subgroups of G. In this paper, we show that a finite group G satisfying n(G)≤2|π(G)| is solvable, and for a finite non-solvable group G, n(G) = 2|π(G)|+1 if and only if G≅A5.
