Abstract

This article focuses on Çerkezī’s translation of Tha‘labī’s Qiṣaṣ al-Anbiyā as a prominent source for the history of Old Anatolian Turkish. There are two extant copies of this translation in the libraries of Turkey. The first is a manuscript in two volumes, the second is a print copy. Çerkezī’s language shows lexical, morphological and phonetical features of Old Anatolian Turkish, as well as some caracteristics of Old Azerbaijani.
