Abstract
Es una radiografía del poder municipal y de las oligarquías urbanas gallegas durante la crisis del antiguo régimen e implantación del nuevo modelo liberal, que evidencia la complejidad interna de unos grupos que luchan por mantener su dominio local desde posiciones estamentales (políticas y sociales). También de las consecuencias que tuvo para ellos la reordenación monárquica que les afectará directa o indirectamente, aumentando las tensiones dentro y fuera de la institución.
