Abstract
Objective To summarize the experience of operative treatment and the clinical features of the olfactory groove meningioma.Methods The clinical data of 17 patients with olfactory groove meningioma treated by microsurgery were analyzed retrospectively.All patients were treated by microsurgical operation,13 patients were treated through bilateral sub-frontal approach,2 patients were treated through unilateral sub-frontal approach,the other 2 patients were treated through the pterional approach.Results Ten cases were Simpson Ⅰ grade tumor resection,7 cases were Simpson Ⅱ grade tumor resection.One patient died of large area cerebral infarction,the others were cured or improved.Conclusions The patients with large or huge olfactory groove meningioma can get good effect by early diagnosis,appropriate choice of operation approach and microsurgical operation.
