Abstract

Summary This paper reviews the production system options available for the development of remote oil fields by unmanned facilities at the remote site. Various types of artificial-lift techniques, surface multiphase fluid pumping, and flowline systems are compared and the attributes of each system illustrated, including an evaluation of the useful operational envelope of each system and its economics.
