Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is multichannel system that provides high rate and high quality wireless communication services, where system performance can be degraded by two factors, one is the symbol timing offset (TOF) and other is the carrier frequency offset (CFO) caused by Doppler frequency shift. After estimating different offsets and compensating them, the detection probability has to be determined whether they are true or false detection. It can be done using Signal to Noise and Interference Ratio (SINR) or estimated received signal power and/or noise power level. This is influenced by the estimated signal retrieving point w.r.t. SINR. In this paper the effect of different kind off offsets are described with the simulated results. A solution for retrieving the estimated signal and calculating the SINR for detection probability has been presented.
