Abstract

We report a case with the clinical diagnosis of generalized erythroderma by dermatologist. Ocular complaints included bilateral foreign body sensation, red eyes, blurred vision for nearly one month. Local examination revealed erythematous, scaling eyelid skin, keratinizing eyelid margin, and congestive conjunctiva in both eyes. A dendritic corneal ulcer in the right eye and a geographic corneal ulcer in the left eye accompanied with marked decreased corneal sensitivity were also found. During the follow up period, meibomian gland orifice obstruction, dry eyes, corneal abrasion with foreign body tract were noted. Ocular complications in generalized erythroderma and the possible contributing factors will be discussed.
