Abstract
Lockhartia has been recognized for the first time in the USSR. More than 50 tests in good or satisfactory condition were studied from seven sites: Baclkhyz, borehole No. 30 (Kushka); Zyul'fagur pass; Rakhmahir; Pul'-i-khatum, Bukhara Beds, lower packet; Gaurdak area Chil'bur geologic section, Bukhara Beds; East Kopet-Dag, Meana section, Dagmansyan suite; Maryy area, borehole No. 2, Paleocene deposits. Lockhartia lupporvi n. sp. is distinguished from other species in the genus by its smaller and flatter test. The taxonomic history of the genus Lockhartia is reviewed.— R. C. Douglass.
