Introduction

The lifetime prevalence of common mental disorders in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) is estimated at 23%, accounting for 11.1% of the total burden of disease. Cost-effective, resource-efficient interventions could help increase the availability and accessibility of mental health services in LMICs.
