Abstract

Ascariasis is a human intestinal parasitosis caused by a nematode called ascaris lombricoïdes. It is the most common parasitosis in the world. Digestive complications are the severity of this pathology and are dominated by acute bowel obstruction. Certain factors such as the child's narrow intestinal lumen or Meckel's diverticulum have been associated with a more frequent occurrence of this obstruction. We report a case of intestinal obstruction with ileal necrosis secondary to massive intestinal ascariasis associated with Meckel's diverticulum in an 8-year-old male child.
