Abstract

Abstract A visit to four sites in the wadi Hasa,]ordan is reported, prior to planned soundings in 1995. Khirbat Ain al-Ghuzlan and Khirbat Abu Banna werefound to be unsuitable for soundings, while Ash-Shorabat and Khirbat Dubab may well have a Late Bronze—Iron I—Iron II sequence, which is the focus of the project. Very few sites of these periods in the Wadi Hasa appear to have stratified remains, perhaps a result of the pattern of use of this area. Two of the sites have been damaged by construction or agricultural work, which is a widespread and growing problem in Jordan.
