Abstract
The ground-state rotational band of $^{234}\mathrm{Th}$ is established up to ${I}^{\ensuremath{\pi}}$${=10}^{+}$ (${12}^{+}$) by in-beam \ensuremath{\gamma}-ray spectroscopy. Heavy-ion transfer reactions are shown to be useful to investigate otherwise unaccessible neutron-rich actinide nuclides.
