Abstract

We present a study of the electrical conductivity of i-Al–Cu–Fe thin films. Good quality thin films of thickness as low as 125Å could be fabricated by sequential evaporation and heat treatment. The behaviour of the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity at low T, as well as the magnetoconductivity, was studied. A clear evidence was obtained for a 3D to 2D transition of the quantum interference contributions as the film thickness is decreased below ≅103Å.
