Abstract
In the field of experts and science, the term of total defense is used ever so increasingly. It is often used interchangeably with the term universal defense. The research analyzes and compares the existing dictionary term of universal defense and attempts to distinguish it from the term of total defense. The study is based on the subject literature as well as on the doctrines of total defense in selected countries around the world.
