Abstract

The department “Development and Supply of nautical simulators” designs simulator systems to meet the requirements of ship's officers, pilots, ship engineers and nautical students. Currently three simulators have been designed; the manoeuvring simulator, the engineroom simulator, and the cargo handling simulator. To achieve maximum flexibility for the three simulators the object oriented design method is used for the design and implementation of the simulator. This abstract describes the way objects are used in the simulators to achieve this maximum flexibility.
