Abstract

This study addresses the typical contradictions in the city of Sao Paulo urban process. Therefore, it inspires not only some serious considerations but also the discussion about its architectural development. The contradiction reveals the new urban reality – a flexible varied and heterogeneous place due to the multiplicity of programmatic functions which contributed to the construction of a complex territory. The projects represent both transformation and interaction processes between the subject, architecture, and place. The work is understood as a temporal process, where the free spaces give place to the hybrid configuration with mobility and communication features, whose programmatic composition is an invitation to the re(sense) the site. The programs established to each module define mutable actions and activities to the geometry of projects, as the instrument of use and density to inspire a new speed and multiplicity favoring the reuse of existing urban historical structures. In addition to the reactivation of the heritage - that remains as the witness to the railway edge area memory -, the power of moving infrastructure and communication to assist the conditions of accessibility and adjustment in the form, process, and network intervention of urban space.
