Abstract

The Theology of Culture was one of the themes developed in Paul Tillich’s thought. As an appreciator of plastic arts, it was in front of the Botticelli’s Madonna that Tillich had his great revealing moment. Cecilia Meireles found in poetic creation the meaning of her life. Tillich had an “instant” in front of the piece of art that was a revealing moment. Cecilia writes that the “instant” is a time in which fulfill the soul, but at the same time it is fugacious and ephemeral. It is a time that lasts only for a moment, so it can't be in imprisonment. This article aims to make a dialog between Paul Tillich and Cecilia Meireles discussing the instant as the time that fulfill the soul. Therefore, it will be analyzed the time of the aesthetic enjoyment of Tillich and the poem “Reason” from Cecilia Meireles.
