Abstract

This article aims to discuss the relationship between sport and migration issues, especially the cause of refuge, as well as analysing how sport can be an importante tool for social inclusion and integration for these migrant groups. The study uses as a theoretical concept the research of authors who study the migratory field and also the sports field within the scope of the humanities, including researching the situation of migrant flows of refugees to Brazil. There is also a special highlight for the Refugee and Immigrant Cup, an amateur football tournament organized by the refugees themselves and which seeks, through sport, to create links between migrants, to strengthen them as a community against the prejudices and obstacles encountered and to help them in the process of integration into Brazilian society.
