Abstract

Rationale: Health problems and the daily number of drugs are increasing with age. Taking 5 or more medicines is defined polypharmacy. Drugs generally affect the nutritional status of an individual by affecting appetite, nutrient metabolism in the body. Furthermore, increased fat mass with age leads to changes in drug metabolism. For this reason, we hypothesis that worse nutrition status positively associated in geriatrics with polypharmacy.
