Abstract

Background: An increasing number of techniques are becoming available for the management of canine and feline uroliths. Some require referral to a specialist hospital and can be costly and/or invasive. When used appropriately, dietary manipulation may reduce the need for such interventions and can delay or prevent urolith recurrence.Aim of the article: This article focuses on nutritional management options for a variety of urolith types, and outlines the clinical settings in which these options are appropriate.
