Abstract

Influence of raitio of three calorigenic nutrients as well as protein quality upon growth and metabolism of rats was observed for 11 weeks, exposing half of them to vibration.Raitio of three calorigenic nutrients and protein score fed to five groups were as follows:1. Standard: protein 16% score 79, oil 10%2. High protein-high fat: protein 25% score 90, oil 25%3. High protein-low fat: protein 25% score 90, oil 2%4. Low protein-high fat: protein 8% score 75, oil 25%5. Low protein-low fat: protein 8% score 75, oil 2%Both high protein groups showed more increas in body weight than other groups, particularly high protein-high fat group gave the best growth, and none of abnormal symptoms was seen in their organs and metabolism. On the contrary, both low protein groups showed distinctly less increase in body weight, specially the low protein-hight fat group showed the least, indicating abnormal signs and metabolism. The unfavorable influences from vibration were proved here again to be protected by high protein nutrition.
