Abstract

W. F. Pepper died suddenly on Friday, December 15th. He was born November 26, 1916, at Chapleau, Ontario, and received a B.S.A. degree at the University of Toronto (Ontario Agricultural College) in 1942, majoring in botany, and an M.S.A. in 1952, specializing in poultry nutrition.From 1942 to 1944 he was a temporary employee of the Department of Poultry Husbandry, Ontario Agricultural College, participating in the extension and blood testing program of the Ontario Breeding Station Policy, which was a function of the Department. He was appointed to the permanent staff in 1944, becoming Assistant in Extension in 1946, Lecturer in 1953, Laboratory Scientist in 1959, Research Scientist in 1961, and Assistant Professor in 1963.He was a highly respected member of the research team in poultry nutrition and was author or coauthor of more than 100 scientific papers, covering a number of areas of the poultry nutrition field. .
