Abstract

Several results using numerical experimentation on homogeneous three-dimensional turbulent MHD flows are reviewed. The role (or absence thereof) of chaos and that of kinetic helicity for the kinematic dynamo problem is described. A second topic concerns the formation of large scale coherent structures due to the inverse cascade of magnetic helicity, and the competing effect of the growth of the strong correlation between velocity and magnetic field at all scales. The subsequent influence of the latter on the spectral index of the energy inertial range is finally discussed in the two-dimensional framework.
