Abstract

Numerical simulation is an important tool in the study of geothermal science and even the development and utilization of geothermal resources. Aiming at the development of middle and deep geothermal resources, this paper takes the numerical simulation of U-shaped heat exchange well as the research object. Based on Fourier’s law and heat conduction equation, the dynamic mesh adaptive finite element method is used to simulate the heat transfer process. The results show that the fixed mesh non-adaptive finite element method lacks a feasible error control mechanism, and the adaptive high-order finite element method with dynamic mesh and adaptive time step control can effectively simulate the process of geothermal energy transmission.
