Abstract

The fluid and heat transfer in porous medium play vital role in many industrial applications. Fluidized bed, heat pipe, thermochemical energy storage systems are few applications related to fluid and thermal flow in porous medium. Theoretically fluid and heat transfer subject domain handle separately but in practical case coupling problem based on both domain exist. In the present paper, numerical approach for solution of fluid and heat transfer coupled problem through porous media is presented. The mathematical model is developed based on Darcy’s extension law, energy equations and constitutive relationship. The FEM solution of the problem is also compared with analytical solution to satisfy the model used.
