The gut microbiota is a key regulator of metabolic, immune, and inflammatory processes. Growing evidence suggests that dysbiosis contributes to systemic low-grade inflammation, a central mechanism underlying cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Increased intestinal permeability and translocation of microbial-derived components may activate inflammatory pathways and promote metabolic dysfunction. This narrative review summarizes current evidence on the role of gut microbiota in systemic inflammation and discusses its implications for cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
