Abstract

The nuclear transverse relaxation rate of Cu 63 and Cl 35 nuclei in (CH 3 NH 3 ) 2 CuCl 4 has been studied at 1.75 K. The steep decrease of the relaxation rate by a small external field was observed. The relaxation rate due to the scattering of the electronic spin wave by the nuclear spin is calculated including the inter-layer exchange interaction, the anisotropy and external fields. Good agreement between the theoretical and the observed values is obtained.
