Abstract

The influence of hydrostatic pressure on the 35Cl NQR frequency in the vicinity of phase transition was studied in K 2OsCl 6. The negative pressure coefficient for the transition driven by the softening of the zone centre rotary mode was observed and discussed in terms of the soft mode theory. The pressure coefficient of the phase transition temperature T c amounts to d T c /d p = −2.2 · 10 −2KMPa −1.
