Abstract

The following article provides a comparison between selected neologisms used by S. Lem and their Russian equivalents. The analysis presents lexical units which during the translation process have acquired „a new value of meaning” and, as a result, they have assumed a meaning that is different from the original. The deliberations are accompanied by the discussion on the reasons for these transformations.
