Abstract
To meet the increase in electrical energy demand and to reduce CO2 emissions from conventional power plants, Building Integrated Photo-Voltaic (BIPV) systems are gaining more attention. High gain DC-DC converters are essential to utilize the power generated from renewable energy sources and play a significant role in the overall renewable generation system performance. In this paper, a novel single-switch non-isolated dc-dc converter with a high step-up voltage gain, reduced voltage stress, and low input current ripple is developed. These features make the proposed converter suitable for renewable energy sources. The principle of operation, theoretical analysis, elements design, simulation by PSIM, and techno-economic study are presented.
