Abstract

In this paper, based on the chitin, and thionyl chloride and triphenyl phosphine as raw material, first step chlorinated chitin were prepared by chitin with thionyl chloride reaction, second step the chitin quaternary phosphonium salt were prepared by chlorinated chitin with triphenyl phosphine. The phosphorus content of the product was determined by spectrophotometry. Antiseptic properties of the product were detected by plate viable count method. The results showed that under the experimental conditions, the minimum inhibitory concentration of chitin quaternary phosphonium salt was 20mg/L .the bactericidal rate of E. coli is 85%. Based on the coagulation of kaolin wastewater experiments, influence on coagulation effect of the pH value of the solution and dose of chitin quaternary phosphonium salt were investigated. The results indicated that when the turbidity water was 102NTU, pH 5-7, the drug concentration 30mg/L, the turbidity removal rate is 80%. Product can be used as a new sewage flocculant and sludge deodorants.
