Abstract

To deal with pattern synthesis of antenna arrays, this paper presents a novel Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (CPSO) to avoid the premature phenomenon of PSO algorithm. The new algorithm uses a comprehensive learning strategy to make the particles have different learning exemplars for different dimensions. The area of the chaotic searching region can be adaptively adjusted according to the distance of the particle's personal best position and the comprehensive position. The simulation results show that it achieves relatively high performance by applying CPSO in the pattern synthesis of antenna arrays.
