Abstract
AbstractNotes on the nomenclature of four species of Geometridae and three species of Noctuidae described by J. C. Fabricius are presented. Five new synonyms are introduced, seven Iectotypes are designated and one new combination is established: Eublemma minutata (F.) (= Melipotis noctualis (Hb.)). Applications have been made to the International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature to give two currently used names precedence over Fabrician senior synonyms: Ecliptopera capitata (H.-S.) overE. posticata (F.) and Psodos coracina (Esp.) over P. hirtata (F).
