Abstract

As midwifery in Ireland evolves to meet a need for standardised, high-quality, woman-centred care, Roisin Lennon reflects on her journey as an advanced midwife practitioner. She shows how this exciting area of practice is in prime position to be a resource for supported and assisted care pregnancies, guide midwives to provide continuity of care in the supported care pathway and help to fully implement the National Maternity Strategy by 2026 in Ireland.
