Abstract

The structural rheological model is used to describe the flow of the aqueous styrene/acrylate suspension obtained by copolymerization of acrylic acid esters with styrene, whose particles have a double electric layer. It is assumed that there are large repulsive forces between the suspension particles, which prevent the particle aggregation. The theoretical analysis of viscosity curves and flow curves for the suspension of charged polymer particles at different concentrations and radii of the particles is presented. The generalized flow equation was used to approximate the flow curves at the separate areas of high and low shear rates. It is shown that the behavior of the generalized flow equation coefficients is consistent with the structural rheological model.
